Description

Antitumor agent. It is a selective non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor. In postmenopause, estradiol is mainly formed from estrone, which is produced in peripheral tissues by conversion from androstenedione (with the participation of aromatase enzyme).
This drug is used either in case of the first signs of gynecomastia (then 1 mg per day is taken until the signs are suppressed) or as a preventive measure against possible estrogenic side effects (then 500 mcg every other day). It is taken before meals, drinking the required amount of water, the maximum concentration is reached within 1-2 hours after consumption.
